Our experience in oracle state park was a nightmare!!! The trails were not maintained and it's a wonder we even made it out of there!!! Cut up legs, socks had stickers all in them and shoes were the same!! We will never go back there!!!!

Oracle State Park is a special place in a unique area. It serves as an environmental education center and hosts numerous speakers from all walks of life, all with the common interest in helping palnet earth and its environment.

Oracle has had several famous people consider it as their home. One, famous in the environmental world, was Edward Abbey, author of many books and the creator of the "monkey wrench gang". Environmental interests run high in the area. The Biosphere just outside of town is another prime example.

My wife works for a well-known environmental non-profit and has spoken to the public on several occasions at the State Park. Her programs, like other speakers, serve to educate and answer questions. The 3,000+ acres of the park have a series of excellent hiking trails that will lead a visitor to wonderful panoramic viewpoints as well as to quiet high-desert landscapes.

The ranch house is an architectural treasure. The views are beautiful and the staff is super friendly.

Your visit to this quiet state park and its historic ranch setting will add the Golden Star to your visit in the area. The state park's main building, the Kannally House Ranch, has a beautiful 1930's Mediterranean-Revival Style ranch house that is also a museum of period memorabilia and paintings. It will give you a taste of the interesting world that early Tucson and its environs shared, including the lifestyle of early ranchers.

One of my favorite parks in Arizona! Beautiful area to hike, and love the historic Kannally Ranch House. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers for the great job you do maintaining the park!

Saw a Jaguarundi, very rare breed of a wild Cat!! Almost extinct!
